BIRD
BIRD.
This bird is the first in a collection of five, each formed from sponge, found fabric, and pins. They are small, fragile sculptures that hold a moment still. The use of worn and discarded cloth carries quiet histories fragments of material life pieced together into tender new forms. Some of the birds will hang in mid-flight, suspended between movement and stillness, while others will gather on the ground, finding harmony, comfort, and stability in one another. The act of pinning them together is both delicate and precarious, a craft that is intentionally un-uniform, stitched from fragments. These birds embody a search for belonging, a quiet resilience, and the fragile beauty of things held together.
